Brian Ross - Captain 2010

I joined Wollaton Park Golf Club on 1 January 1987. I was a Company Director in the family business, The NRT Group of Companies in Nottingham. I have served as a magistrate for 21 years on the City Bench later becoming Chairman of the Betting & Gaming Panel.

I've always been a keen sportsman, I played rugby for Nottingham RFC when at Ireland Avenue in Beeston and I've also played cricket and squash locally.

I have three daughters, seven grandchildren and one great grandson.

I have recently served as Chairman of the House, Social & Catering Committee and instigated the fitting of our fairway yardage discs and new ball washers with the assistance of members’ sponsorship. My charities for the year will be ’Macmillan Nurses’ and ‘The Nottingham Hospice’

My aim will be to continue the ongoing progress already achieved in raising the standard of the course and the profile of the Club.

Terry Wass - Lady Captain 2010

I was born and brought up in Newport, Monmouthshire and went to school both there and in Weston Super Mare where I played tennis and hockey (the latter on the sands) -  hence the hockey type golf swing. On leaving school, I went to Nottingham University to read pharmacy and it was there that I met my husband, Mike, reading civil engineering. After university I went to London and worked in hospital, industry and teaching.

Mike and I were married in 1961 and moved around the country with Mike’s job, finally, by chance, ending up back in Nottingham . We have 3 daughters and 3 grandsons.

While in Nottingham I worked part time in all the hospitals, past and present, except the City, finally working with the inspection teams for nursing and residential homes in the Nottingham area.

I joined Wollaton Park Golf Club in 1984 as an absolute beginner. Now in retirement, I am thoroughly enjoying golf, tennis, bridge, gardening and visiting family and friends.
