The Gents Club Championship was held on Sunday under sunny skies and relatively calm conditions. The course was presented in excellent shape, especially the greens which were fast and true.
Congratulations to Dominic Tinsley who successfully retained the title he won for the second time last year.
Dominic added a second round 69 to his opening 71 for a two-under par total of 140, 4 shots ahead of his nearest challengers. In second place was Richard Brearley (73-71) and third was Henry Brewin, who led by 1 after a first round 70 and followed up with a 74.
The nett prize was won by Jack Sipos on 138. His highlight was a second round gross 70, nett 65, which sees his handicap drop to 4. In 2nd place was Dean Howitt on 140 and in 3rd Kevin Shakesheff on 141.
Prizes were also won for the best gross morning and afternoon rounds not in the main prizes. Ant Fleming won the morning prize from Josh Slade on count-back after a 72, and Aaron Prince was the afternoon winner on 74 from Michael White, also on count-back.
